It’s anniversary week for us here at The Fogue Abode. Exactly 4 years ago on May 12th, at 3:30 in between rain storms, I said “I Do” to this handsome guy!
So how about a little detail on all the shenanigans? Since we weren’t around blogging back then, I’ll have to do a couple of catch-up post on how our family came to be.
The Mr and I meet while I was still in college back in 2009. We dated for 2-1/2 years before he mustard up the nerve to popped the question.
The Mr isn’t a very romantic guy, he’ll be the first to admit that. So our engagement was a bit of a shock to me. It’s super corny but I loved every little thing about it. Especially all the detail he put into it and making sure it was well hidden from my curious eyes.
We were engaged on Christmas eve, which is when we normally exchanged our gifts. He had hidden my gift way up under the tree, where I could not even see it. When I opened it, I saw a large jar of M&M’s, which seemed a little strange to me. Upon further inspection, the M&M’s were the ones with a message on it. It was so cute, “Will You Marry Me?” I was totally like Ok, but where’s the ring? I had to do a little digging because it was well hidden in the bowl.
After the digging and a little reminder that he still needed to get down on one knee (I’m an old fashioned gal) we finally got the mushy stuff out of the way.
I was totally in love! He did a great job picking out my ring. I love that our engagement was at Christmas, which is my favorite holiday. It was just all around perfect for us!
