A sick little one and the thunder rolling in the background called for a morning of cuddles in bed. As Aspen gets older, I really do miss the stillness and cuddles she used to provide me with. So for now, I’ll take these few moments with her.
Listening to her little rattley snores, I figured it would be a great moment to jump into Erin from The Humbled Homemaker;s ebook You Retreat. With the New Year, not only do I want to be more productive here on this little blog, I also wanted to be more present in my family (plus juggle a job, this is going to require some work.)
My goal, find my “One Word” for the New Year and develop my mission statement.
After brainstorming several ideas, I came up with a few goals. I want to be more present in my families life. I want to continue my growth in blogging and provided great content on my own timeline, which is something I declared last year towards the end of the year. I want to be more purpose driven personally.
The tricky part was putting all of that into my one word. But it finally came to me, Intentional.
What a great goal for the new year, to be intentional in all of my actions whether that be my family, my job, my side-job blog, my relationship with God.
The next thing Erin talked about in her ebook was to develop a mission statement for the new year. With my one word Intentional in mind, I divided my mission statement into three areas.
What is your “One Word” for 2017?
