Hey friends! I’m jumping on here today with something a little off topic. I was planning to bring you a barn door DIY with our leftover tin from the bar, but that project is still incomplete. To let you guys into my life happenings a little, and I feel weird for divulging I don’t know why, my husband works for a very large retailer. He is to the point in his career where it’s time to take the next step. Unfortunately, we don’t know where that next step will land us. It could be close to home, or we could be facing a move in our future. Undoubtedly, it has me a little gun shy to start many big projects and invest money into something we won’t get to keep. So our project list is sorta on hold while we wade through this round of interviews.
After that book into our personal quandary, I wanted to share with you one project I do have started up and that is my little guy’s first birthday party. Wes turned 11 months old yesterday, and the sadness of his infancy gone-by is starting to hit me. I may have sat with him last night and cried. (Which if you know me at all is highly unusual for water to be streaming down my face, I’m usually good at keeping the emotions in check.) Since we are a month away from his big birthday, it’s time to start planning. So today’s post is all about Fall Birthday Ideas.
Fall Birthday Party Ideas
I love that my little guy has an October birthday. It’s my favorite season, and so many amazing birthday party opportunities are available. I wanted Wes’ first to be intimate and fun for our nieces and nephews. We have a field beside our house which is the perfect opportunity to host an outdoor event. I’ve rounded up a few fall birthday party ideas to help me plan for our own party.
1 | Fall Pumpkin Patch Birthday
One of the family traditions we have created is a trip each fall to the local pumpkin patches. I love all the festive games, hayrides and animals we encounter. Recreating a fall pumpkin patch for Weston’s first birthday would be such a fun way to celebrate such a big milestone. I love Pizzazzerie Pumpkin Painting 1st Birthday Party. Pumpkin painting, kettle corn, rustic decor, this makes up such a fun and family-centered birthday party idea.
2 | Football Birthday
We LOVE college football in our family. When Wes was born, I was given one stipulation. He couldn’t be born on a Saturday. Saturday’s are the holy grail of fall in our home. Therefore, a super fun football themed birthday party could be just the crowd pleaser for an October Saturday. Fun appetizers, red and white, plus the game on an outdoor projector would be loads of fun for this tot. I loved A Night Owl’s Superbowl Soiree party set up.
3 | Rustic Camp Birthday
There’s nothing more fallish for a little boy than red and black plaid. When I think of that, a rustic camp is the first thing that pops to mind. How cool would a mini campfire, a s’more table and a pop-tent be for our tiny toddler? Giggles Galor Camping Themed Birthday looks to fun to jump into. I mean that vintage tackle box with gummy worms is such a clever idea.
4 | Halloween Birthday
You can’t think of October without thinking of a festive Halloween Party. A spooky soiree with bobbing apples and cider, witches and goblins running around, this would be a memorable affair. Laura’s Crafty Life gives some easy DIY party decor tips in her post.
So many fun birthday ideas to help commemorate our guy’s big day. It’s hard to narrow it down to just one. I can’t wait to share with you all the fun details of his party. There’s a lot of DIY coming at you. Until then, hang tight as we figure out what our future holds. It’s bright and exciting regardless of the outcome.
