The Fogue Abode: Our Wedding

Our Wedding

My greatest DYI project to date...or rather yet, greatest Pinterest Project to day.  We were married back in May of 2012.  This was right when Pinterest became popular and I made it a hobby to browse the wedding section daily.  Most of my ideas came from here so I am dubbing this The Country Chic Pinterest Matrimony

Our wedding venue was absolutely stunning.  We were married at the Lake DeGrey Resort Lodge, Bismark, AR with the lake setting as our background.  The natural beauty of it allowed me to limit the décor to just a few hanging balls of sunflowers down the isle.  The staff was excellent from the beginning of the planning all the way until the big day.  Leaving me with nothing to stress about except the rain.

The detail went into little things.  My "something blue" was a project of mod podging blue glitter to the soles of my shoes.

My mom made these rustic signs that helped guide our guests to the hidden Lodge.

And to further my love of mason jars, we used these multiple sized jars to hold the sand that we combined in place of the unity candles.  I purchased little wooden initials and painted them grey and yellow and tied them to the jars with jute.

The reception was held just inside the lodge, which was a lucky thing.  It rained the entire day of our wedding except for about an hour for the ceremony.  My cake was a 4 layer Italian Cream with grey fondant stripes and dots and a large yellow orchid.  I wanted to keep everything about our wedding classic, simple.

We had a wonderful and helpful staff of vendors, I highly recommend each of them.
