When thinking about our outfits for this year’s fall photo’s, I thought about the decor styles I’m loving this year. Neutral colors with hints of green and blues are THE look this year. I wanted the base of our outfits to go along with this concept. Plus a pretty neutral color scheme would be beautiful to display all year long. But you know me, I love a pop of color, and fall color is my absolute favorite. I mean I did paint my piano mustard yellow for crying out loud. So I couldn’t resist adding a colorful accent to our look. With all of that said, here is the outfit combo I created. *Huge disclaimer that I’m a DIY blogger, I can talk all day about building and painting but fashion isn’t my strongest point. So take all of this with that little grain of salt.*
Here’s how I built our family photo outfits for a neutral fall look.
1 | Dad’s Outfit
For both Chris and me, I wanted us to be in total neutral colors. I loved these American Eagle Khakis that he has and thought they would pair nicely with a chambray button-down shirt. I actually found this shirt on Amazon from their GoodThreads collection. I’ve linked to a similar one below.
2 | Mom’s Outfit
For my outfit, I wanted something cute and casual. I live in chunky cardigans during the fall and often dress them up with a pair of booties. I braved the neutral waters and went with a sheer white v-neck top and a large chunky cardigan from the Banana Republic. I paired this with holey jeans from American Eagle and Booties. use the arrows to scroll through the whole look.
3 | Toddler Girl’s Outfit
I wanted Aspen to be our splash of color this year because let’s face it, toddler girl outfits are beyond words cute! I had a ton of fun mixing and matching fall colors and ultimately decided on this burgundy dress with mustard knee-high socks and mary jane shoes. All of her outfit came from Old Navy, major mom score!
4 | Baby Boy’s Outfit
And finally the little man of the hour, our big one year old. I felt like he needed a sophisticated yet adorable outfit. I settled on a simple button-down onesie and kicked it up a notch with the suspenders which I purchased from a local vendor. I paired them with some Old Navy baby jeans and shoes. And he is so adorable I could just eat him up. use the arrows to scroll through the whole look.
Without delay, here is a sneak at our fall family photo shoot. It really was a blast, after persuading our 3-year-old with ice cream if she smiled pretty. That’s what raising a toddler is all about, right? Offering ice cream in exchange for whatever you want? Seriously, it was so much fun. And the ice cream afterward wasn’t half bad either.
